改装後は重錘として特務艦朝日の沈没潜水艦救難実験や訓練に使用された。

1931年（昭和6年）8月19日、雑役船に編入し沈錘船となり公称第2900号と改名。引き続き沈没潜水艦救難実験や訓練に使用された。

1937年（昭和12年）5月31日、船体の老朽化や、朝日の救難装備の撤去が決まったため、沈錘船は製鋼材料とすることとなった[2]。これを受け、公称第2900号は同年6月26日に廃船となった[3]。
