the pillows（ザ・ピロウズ）は、日本のロックバンド[1]。
概要

メンバーは山中さわお(vo,g)、真鍋吉明(g)、佐藤シンイチロウ(dr)の3人。ヒットチャートの上位にランクインすることは少ないものの、長期にわたって音楽活動を継続しており[2]、2000年代以降はアメリカ合衆国をはじめとした日本国外での人気も得ている[3][4]。音楽レーベルは自主レーベルDELICIOUS LABELに所属。過去在籍したメンバーに上田ケンジ(ba)がいる。録音時やライブの際はサポートメンバーを起用し演奏を行う。詳細は後述のメンバーの節を参照のこと。

上田、山中、真鍋、佐藤の4人によって、1989年9月16日に結成された。インディーズでの活動を経て、1991年5月21日にシングル「雨にうたえば」でポニーキャニオンよりメジャー・デビュー。
