概要

2008年12月、早稲田大学の音楽サークル・中南米研究会（レゲエ・スカ・カリプソ等ジャマイカやカリブの音楽を演奏）の先輩後輩で結成。当初のバンド名表記はTam Tam（後にTAMTAMに変更）[3]。

2011年4月に配信されたOTOTOYのコンピレーション「Play For Japan」に楽曲「Dry Ride」を提供。11月、自主制作盤Come Dung Basieをリリース[4]。

2012年5月、maoよりHAKASE-SUN（LITTLE TEMPO）をプロデューサーに迎えた初の全国流通作品"meteorite"をリリース。同年7月にフジロックフェスティバルの「ROOKIE A GO-GO」ステージに出演、観客投票で1位を獲得[4]。

2013年3月、maoよりミニアルバム"Polarize"をリリース。同年12月、音楽雑誌「ミュージック・マガジン」の特集「ベストアルバム2013」国内レゲエ部門で1位を獲得[5]。

2014年4月、SPEEDSTAR RECORDSからミニ・アルバム"For Bored Dancers"でメジャー・デビュー[6]。9月、フルアルバムStrange Tomorrowリリース。ベース小林が脱退[7]。

2016年9月、Pヴァインよりフルアルバム"NEWPOESY"をリリース、同年11月に渋谷TSUTAYA O-nestにてリリースライブを開催、完売[8]。

2017年6月、自主制作にて"EASYTRAVELERS mixtape"をカセットテープ＋Bandcamp等の配信限定でリリース。発売前週に横浜赤レンガ倉庫内MotionBlueYokohamaにてワンマンライブを開催、同作を先行発売。
