F-4 ファントムII（McDonnel F-4 Phantom II）は、アメリカ合衆国のマクドネル・エアクラフト社（その後マクドネル・ダグラス社を経て、現在のボーイング社）が開発した艦上戦闘機である。アメリカ海軍をはじめ、多くの国の軍隊で採用された。愛称はファントムII（Phantom II）。
概要空中給油を待つF-4F

アメリカ海軍初の全天候型双発艦上戦闘機として開発され、大型の翼と高出力のジェットエンジンを双発で装備し大きな搭載量を特徴としている。当初の機種番号は海軍ではF4H、アメリカ空軍ではF-110だったが1962年にアメリカ軍の軍用機の命名規則統一によりF-4となった。

ベトナム戦争での活躍から多くの西側諸国に採用され、各国の要求に応じて様々な派生型が数多く作られたことにより冷戦期の代表的な機体となった。数々の実戦戦績や各国へのセールスの成功も含めて傑作戦闘機と評価され、マクドネル社の発展の原動力としてその名を世界に広めた戦闘機とされる。

マクドネル社とダグラス社の合併によりマクドネル・ダグラス社となってからも生産が続き、総計5,195機生産された。超音速戦闘機の歴史で5,000機以上製造されたのは、このF-4とMiG-19、MiG-21、MiG-23の4機種しかない。現在のベストセラーF-16が2018年時点で約4,600機[2] であることを見ても特筆すべき生産数である。
