注釈^ 2016年時点の価値では3320万米ドル。
^ 直訳すれば“棍棒”の意味だが、特にアメリカ合衆国大統領セオドア・ルーズベルトの掲げた「棍棒外交」を指す[1]。
^ 原語では"Communication tube"と呼ぶ。この中をくぐって移動することはB-29と同様だが、B-36では手摺代わりに張られたロープと内径に合わせた台車（この上に人が仰向けに載って移動する）が導入されており、B-29に比べて距離の長いトンネル内の移動を補助していた。[3]
