バージョン3.0以降は、Photoshop Albumの機能が「写真整理モード」として統合された [注釈 1]。ただし、アプリケーション上はAlbum時代からの流れで別のものとなっている。また、Elementsシリーズのラインナップが拡充され、動画編集ソフトウェアのAdobe Premire Elements（アドビ・プレミア・エレメンツ）がシリーズに加わり、同梱パッケージが提供されるようになった（Windows版のみ）。

現在では、Premire Elementsと共に、1年おきにバージョンアップを重ねており、Photoshop CSシリーズの新機能を随時取り入れられるようになっている。

Photoshopと比較すると、主に「トーンカーブ」「マスク」「パス」などの機能が制限されているが、安価でPhotoshopエンジンを積んだ自動補正が出来る点などが好評である。イラスト等を作成する場合Web上での発表や紙に印刷するための用途に使用する場合は問題ないが、カラーデータ入稿に必須であるCMYKカラーに対応していないため、データ入稿の際には上位バージョンのPhotoshop CSシリーズあるいは他の画像描画用ソフトを別途用意する必要がある。また、1世代前のバージョンが各種のデジタルカメラやスキャナ、ペンタブレットなどの付属ソフトウェアとして同梱されている場合がある。

写真整理モードは「Elements Organizer」（エレメンツ・オーガナイザー）という機能として搭載されている。Elements 8まではこの機能がWindows版のみに搭載されており、Mac版には搭載されておらず、代わりに同社のメディアデータ管理ソフト「Bridge CS4」（ブリッジ CS4）が同梱されていた。Elements 9 からはMac版にも搭載されている [1]。
