1967年のNFL

1967年のAFLは、1970年にNFLと合併したAFLの7年目のシーズンであり、合併前のNFLチャンピオンとAFLチャンピオンが対戦した第2回スーパーボウル（当時の呼称はAFL-NFLワールドチャンピオンシップゲーム）が1968年1月14日に開催されたシーズンである。

第8回AFLチャンピオンシップで、オークランド・レイダースがヒューストン・オイラーズを40対7で破り、AFLチャンピオンに輝いたが、第2回AFL-NFLワールドチャンピオンシップ（第2回スーパーボウル）でグリーンベイ・パッカーズに33対14で敗れた。
概要

AFLは9チームで構成され、2つの地区に分けられた。前年までは各チームはホーム・アンド・アウェーで他の7チームと対戦し、計14試合のシーズンを戦っていたが、9チームになっても全14試合という点は変更されなかった。具体的には、各チームは他の8チームの内、6チームとは2回対戦し、2チームと1回対戦する形式を採った。そして、各地区の1位（同率首位の場合はプレイオフで決定）がチャンピオンシップで戦い、AFLチャンピオンを決定した。
