^ 『宋史』薛昂伝によると薛昂は王安石の新法党の人物で歴史書嫌いで有名だったという。『続資治通鑑』北宋紀第八十五巻・哲宗・紹聖四年条に「時薛昂、林自乞毀資治通鑑、?因策士，題引神宗所製序文以問，二人議沮，遂得不毀。」とある。
