Rotten Tomatoesによれば、批評家の一致した見解は「挑発的な基本設定と独創的なセットデザインがヒッチコックの悪魔のように面白い傑作への道を照らしている。」であり、50件の評論のうち高評価は98%にあたる49件で、平均点は10点満点中8.8点となっている[4]。Metacriticによれば、15件の評論のうち、高評価は14件、賛否混在は1件、低評価はなく、平均点は100点満点中88点となっている[5]。
