行政区（ぎょうせいく）とは、

政令指定都市の区（く）のこと。地方自治法第252条の20に基づき各政令指定都市の条例により設置される行政単位であり、現在、全国に171区存在している。本項で説明する。

一部の市町村において設置されている、当該市町村を任意の区画で分割した実務上の行政区画、あるいはその行政区画において設けられる住民自治組織のこと。当該市町村において条例（行政区設置条例、行政区長設置条例等）[注釈 1]を定めて、行政区と行政区長を置いている [1]。

2024年1月時点では、大阪市24区、横浜市18区、名古屋市16区、京都市11区、札幌市・さいたま市10区、神戸市9区、広島市・新潟市8区、川崎市・堺市・北九州市・福岡市7区、千葉市6区、仙台市・熊本市5区、岡山市4区、相模原市・静岡市・浜松市3区の全171区ある。
