^ シャクナゲ、ツツジ、卯の花などを竹竿の先に束ねて庭先や木の枝に高く掲げる。
^ 当時の記録では、日比谷公園には多くの人々が集まったらしい[12]。
^ 当時の参加者の寄せ書きによれば、中心人物は近角であったようだが、他の発起人は美濃部達吉、姉崎正治、芳賀矢一、巖谷小波、倉知鉄吉、藤代禎輔、松本文三郎、松村松年、長岡外史、玉井喜作、津軽英麿、吉田静致、薗田宗恵という錚々たる面々だった[12]。
