漁業（ぎょぎょう、Fishery）とは、営利目的で魚介類を捕獲したり養殖する産業 [1]。
概説

漁業とは、営利を目的として魚介類を捕獲したり養殖する産業のことで [1]、別の言い方では、営利目的で水産動物・水産植物を採ったり養殖する事業のこと [2]。水産加工業などとともに水産業の一種である。

漁業にはさまざまな人々が関わっているが、漁撈活動に専業として携わる者のことは漁師という。

漁業は農業などと同じく第一次産業だが、公共の場を利用して行われる点で農業と大きく異なる [3]。そのため法令により多くの制限を受ける。
漁業の分類

分類方法は多様で、漁場による分類（統計調査による分類）、漁具・漁法による分類、漁獲物の種類による分類、漁業法規による分類（漁業制度による分類）、経営形態による分類などがある [1][4]。漁獲物の種類による分類では、「マグロ漁」「イカ漁」「タコ漁」「ホタテ漁」... 等々となる。
漁場による分類

漁場による分類としては、淡水漁業、沿岸漁業、沖合漁業、遠洋漁業、深海漁業などに分けられることがある [1]。

日本標準産業分類では漁業（海面漁業・内水面漁業）と水産養殖業（海水面養殖・内水面養殖）に大別される [4]。
