港区（みなとく）は、東京都の区部中央部に位置する特別区[1]。東京都の都心部にあたる。
概要 港区のパノラマ全景
千代田区・中央区とともに「東京都心」、「都心3区」とされる[2]。放送局などのマスコミ・広告代理店やIT企業などの本社、外資系企業の日本支社などが多数集積しており、日本経済の中心の一端を担っている[3]。テレビ放送における民放キー局の多くの本社は港区に所在しているほか[注釈 1]、東京のランドマークでもある東京タワーも位置している。虎ノ門や新橋・汐留、赤坂、六本木、芝、港南（品川駅東口）などは大規模なオフィス街となっており、これらのビジネスエリアは再開発により超高層ビルが林立している。青山・表参道、赤坂、六本木、お台場などは商業エリアという面も強く、麻布や白金台、高輪といった多くの高級住宅街を擁する。赤坂御用地、迎賓館赤坂離宮をはじめとして芝公園、白金台の自然教育園など緑地も多い。明治維新後に大名屋敷跡地を各国政府に提供した歴史的経緯や政府主要機関へのアクセスのよさから、現在日本に存在する約150の駐日大使館のうち半数以上が港区に集積している[4][5]。
