?名? (natural science の訳語) 自然現象を対象とする学問の総称。狭義には自然現象そのものの法則を探求する数学、物理学、天文学、化学、生物学、地学などをさし、広義にはそれらの実生活への応用を目的とする工学、農学、医学などを含むこともある。[3]
