^ a b 1946年にこの地域がポーランドの地方行政に編入された際には、東部の一部がポドラシェ県に組み込まれ、残りの部分が「オルシュティンスキ県」となった。その後、ポドラシェ県にいったん組み込まれた部分も含めて県が再編され、ヴァルミア県とマズールィ県が成立した。1999年にヴァルミア県とマズールィ県が合併して、現在のヴァルミア・マズールィ県が成立した。「回復領」が広く用いられていた1989年の民主化以前には、2県が別個に存在していた。県としての記述ではなく、歴史的な地域としての記述であるが、各国語版のヴァルミア (pl:Warmia、de:Ermland、en:Warmia)、マズールィ (pl:Mazury、de:Masuren、en:Masuria) も参照のこと。
