なお、2023年（令和5年）11月28日、参議院議院運営委員会理事会は本会議場などでの速記者を廃止することを決定した[28]。
備考
貴族院本会議場を引き継いだ参議院本会議場には、参議院議長席後方に「御席」と呼ぶ玉座があり、各国会回次ごとに天皇が臨席して行われる開会式に用いられる。なお、衆議院本会議場の衆議院議長席上方2階にも「御座所」と呼ぶ玉座があるが、参議院の御席のように議場内から直接階段で繋がっているものではなく、第二次世界大戦後に天皇が衆議院御座所に着座したこともない。
議員バッジは金張りである。これに対して衆議院議員のものは、一回り小さく金メッキである。バッジを紛失した場合は自費で購入することになる。
