^ 1600年に『A Pleasant Comedie, call'd Summers Last will and Testament』として出版された時は「喜劇」となっていた。役者の1人が、「いいや、これは芝居じゃない。見世物だ」と言ったからである。しかしナッシュの指示は、「夏が登場。秋と冬の肩にもたれる。サテュロスと木のニュンペー（ニンフ）たちを従えている。歌う。ウェルトゥムヌス（en:Vertumnus）もそれに続く」となっていて、仮面劇のものだと現在では認識されている。
