注釈^ 「三綱」の思想は、特に『春秋繁露』『白虎通』などの漢代思想で言われる[1]。「三綱」は元々は儒家ではなく法家の思想である、とする指摘もある[2]。
^ 白川静『孔子伝』によれば「狩衣姿も凛々しい若者のたのもしさをいう語」である。白川（2003）
^ 最古の字典である『説文解字』では「親」に通じると述べている。
^ 孔子はまた、「君子」について、「造次」（急変）のときも、「?沛」（ひっくりかえること）のときも「仁に違ふことなし」として、生活のいかなる場面でもつねに身につけるべき至高の倫理とした。
^ ともに『論語』顔淵篇に収載されている。
^ 『説文解字』では、語源的に「宜」に通じると説明している。
