世宗市は現在も建設中であり、2007年から2030年までに3段階の事業計画が進められている。最終的に2030年には面積73平方キロメートル、人口50万人を達成するように設計されている[9]。2030年の人口予定は80万人ともいう[3]。

市長：チェ・ミンホ (???) 第4代 (2022年7月1日 ~ 現職者) 国民の力所属

初代：兪漢植（???）セヌリ党。第35-36代燕岐郡郡守、2012年4月11日投票の第19代総選挙と同時実施された市長選挙で当選。当選時は先進党だったが、8月30日に統一党を離党し、セヌリ党へ入党[10]。11月、先進党はセヌリ党に吸収合併された。

李春熙（???）第2代・第3代（2014年7月1日?、共に民主党）。




教育監 : チェ・ギョジン（左派性向、3当選）在任期間2014年7月1日から2026年6月30日（予定）

議会：20名（地域区18名+比例代表2名）発足当初は忠清南道道議会議員3名と燕岐郡議員10名、公州市と清原郡の各議員1名で構成[11]
