注釈^ 『詩経』の小雅、谷風之什の『大東』にも牽牛と織女の名が出ているが、恋愛伝説の形にはなっていない。
^ 『小説』の原典は失われているが、明代の馮應京（ひょう おうきょう）が万暦年間に著した『月令広義』にこれが引用されている（「七月令」・「牛郎織女」項 ⇒[1]）。
