Micah Fiksman, a pilot assigned to the "Battle Cats" of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Light Squadron Four Three (HSL-43), performs a pre-flight check on the tail rotor of an SH-60 Seahawk helicopter, prior to take off from the flight deck of Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). HSL-43 is flying search and rescue missions into the New Orleans area in support of Joint Task Force Katrina. The Navy's involvement in the humanitarian assistance operation is being lead by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense.
