^ 病理解剖によって判明した死因は肝炎であり、肝臓に蓄積された放射能も通常と殆ど変わらないことから、被爆が原因で死亡したのではなく船員の治療の際に用いられた血液が肝炎ウイルスに汚染されていたことが原因であると指摘されている[10]。
