^ ⇒Gesetz uber die Errichtung eines Unternehmens Reichsautobahnen （ドイツ語）. この時期の法律の条文に用いられたドイツ語「Gesetz」の直訳は「法律」である。しかし、この時期には1933年3月23日の「全権委任法」（Gesetz zur Behebung der Not von Volk und Reich）などにより、法律上の権力はすでに行政部（すなわちヒトラー）に移行していることを考えれば、こうした第三帝国の法令は全て、事実上の総統命令そのもの（すなわち布告（Erlass））であった。

^ 「西壁」事業とは余り関係のない擬似民間事業の一つが、フンスリュック高地道路（Hunsruckhohenstrase（大部分は現在のドイツのB327とB407に当たる））の建設であった。南の終着点は、フランス国境であり西壁にあるトリーアの近郊にあった。フンスリュック高地道路の建設は、エドガー・ライツの映画Heimat（1984年）第五章の背景に用いられた。映画の中心人物の一人に、この事業の技師（架空）がいる。
