日本軍の行動図ビスマルク海海戦 (ビスマルクかいかいせん、英語: Battle of Bismarck Sea) は[10]、第二次世界大戦中の1943年（昭和18年）3月2日から3月3日に、ビスマルク海からダンピール海峡[11]にかけての海域で、ダグラス・マッカーサー陸軍大将指揮下の連合国軍ニューギニア・オーストラリア方面部隊が日本軍の輸送船団に対し航空攻撃を行ったことで発生した戦闘のこと[12][13]。
概要1943年（昭和18年）2月初頭、日本軍はガダルカナル島から撤退し[14]、大本営はパプアニューギニア（ニューギニア島東部）方面に作戦の重点を移した[15][16]。同時期、連合軍も東部ニューギニアで攻勢に出ており[17]、日本軍はニューギニア方面の戦力増強を企図して陸軍・海軍協同の輸送作戦を立案する [18][注釈 3]。日本側の輸送作戦の名称は「八十一号作戦」である[20][21][22]。
