^ 暗号文が解読されてからまもなく、バレーホ警察はバカビルに住む精神科医と接触し、手紙の文面の分析を依頼した。精神科医は、手紙の内容は陰気で孤立した人物の典型であると断定した。また、手紙の書き手は殺人のスリルと性交の充足感を比較しており、これは通常、男性が極度の拒絶感を覚えているときの不満足の表れであるとも述べている。死後の奴隷を集めているという主張は、手紙の書き手の全能感の現れであるという[10][11]。
