繁殖形態は胎生。妊娠期間は3-5週間[2]。1回に1頭の幼獣を産む[2]。幼獣は生後10-12か月は育児嚢の中で生活する[2]。 生息地では食用とされることもある[2]。 開発や採掘による生息地の破壊、食用の狩猟などにより生息数は減少している[2]。
