クリスティーン・フォレストと離婚後、2011年に『ランド・オブ・ザ・デッド』の撮影で出会ったスザンヌ・デスロチャーと再婚。

2009年にカナダ国籍を取得し、住みなれたピッツバーグを離れ、トロントへ移り住んだ。

2017年7月16日に肺がんにより死去[3][4]。77歳没。
