Unicode

かつてユニコードコンソーシアムでは、コプト文字をギリシア文字の異体とみなしていたため、コプト文字は U+0370 - U+03FF のギリシア文字ブロックに含まれ、一部の文字をギリシア文字と共有していた。Unicode 4.1 以降はコプト文字を独立した文字体系として扱うことになり、U+2C80 - U+2CFF にコプト文字専用のブロックが割り当てられた。Unicodeの今後のバージョンではこの新しいブロックのコードによって符号化するべきであるとされる[2]（ただし、デモティックに由来する7文字（大文字と小文字を別々に数えると14文字）は、すでにギリシア文字ブロックに割り当てられているものを使う）。符号位置は以下のとおり。
