福音派と聖霊派には「クリスチャン・ロック」に対する反対論が強くある。マリア福音姉妹会、デイヴィッド・ウィルカーソン、ジェームス・ドブソンらは悪魔崇拝や性的逸脱と結びついたロックを福音化することはできず、クリスチャンはそれを用いるべきではないとしている[3][4][5][6]。

マリア福音姉妹会の祈りの本には、「ロックに惑わされている若者のための祈り」があり、悪魔的なロックから若者たちが助け出されるよう祈っていると表明している[7]。
