注釈^ Роусь、Русьなど、発音は同じと推測される単純な表記揺れは存在する。
^ ウクライナ語:Ки?вська Русь；ベラルーシ語:К?е?ская Русь；ロシア語:Киевская Русь。
^ カラムジンによると、ロシア帝国はルーシの直接な後継者であり、「ルーシ」そのものはロシアの古称にすぎない。なぜなら、ルーシは1240年に滅んだわけではなく、ルーシの政治的中心がキエフからモスクワへ移っただけだからであるという。彼は、ルーシ（ロシア）の歴史は「キエフ・ルーシ」、「モスクワ・ルーシ」、「帝国のルーシ」という区分に分かれると主張した[15]。
