（フランス語版）と民事連帯契約を結んだが、2024年より前に解消したと見られる[22][23][24]。セジュルネはアタル内閣で欧州・外務相に任命された[25]。また、歌手のジョイス・ジョナサンとは学生時代からの友人である[26][27]。2018年12月にL'Obs（フランス語版）でカミングアウトしたが[28]、その以前に元同級生で弁護士のフアン・ブランコ（フランス語版）によりTwitterでアウティングされた[29][30]。

注釈^ フランスでは2004年に児童と生徒は学校内で宗教的なシンボルや衣服を着用してはならないとする法律が施行されており、具体的にはキリスト教の大きな十字架、イスラム教のヘッドスカーフなどが禁止対象とされていた[19]。アバーヤは2023年まで積極的に禁止措置が講じられることはなかったが、校内での着用者の増加とともに教師と保護者間で緊張が高まっていた[19]。
