^ スペイン人歴史家アントニオ・デ・ヘレラ・イ・トルデシラスが1601年に出版した史料に拠れば、フロリダ、ドライ・トートガス、ケープ・カナベラルおよびアパラチアンがそれ以前に名付けられた地名である。
