概要

2001年に映画『ハリー・ポッターと賢者の石』のハーマイオニー・グレンジャー役でデビュー。以後、7作目の『ハリー・ポッターと死の秘宝』まで全シリーズに出演した。『ハリー・ポッターと賢者の石』と『ハリー・ポッターと秘密の部屋』での演技によりAOL最優秀助演女優賞に輝く。また、『ハリー・ポッターとアズカバンの囚人』ではイギリスの映画誌トータルフィルムの読者投票で最優秀新人に選出された。

2009年12月、「過去10年間で最も興行収入を稼いだ女優」としてギネス世界記録に認定された。ワトソンが2000年から2010年までの過去10年間で出演した映画『ハリー・ポッター』シリーズの合計で約6000万ドル（日本円で約63億円）を稼いでいた[1]。
