^ 1996年にもハンス・カマランダーが山頂からスキー滑降に成功したが、所々でスキーを脱いで下山した。三浦雄一郎は1970年に7980 mからスキー滑降し、「The Man Who Skied Down Everest」として映画化されたことで有名[38]。
