^ 後藤健[2015]では「ウンム・ン＝ナール文明」との表記を用いている。由来となった島の現在の日本語表記はウンム・アル＝ナール、ラテン文字表記は Umm al-Nar であるが、日本西アジア考古学会の他の文献（小磯[2005]）でもウンム・アン＝ナールの表記を用いているため、本記事でもウンム・アン＝ナールを採用した
