鬼束 ちひろ（おにつか ちひろ、1980年10月30日 - ）[2]は、日本の女性シンガーソングライター。本名同じ。身長153cm。血液型O型[3]。2013年からは鬼束ちひろ & BILLYS SANDWITCHESのボーカルとしても活動。妹は舞踊家で女優の鬼束桃子。 19歳の2000年2月9日に1stシングル『シャイン』でデビュー。半年後にリリースした2ndシングル『月光』で、一躍脚光を浴びる。 2001年3月発売の1stアルバム『インソムニア』がミリオン・セールスとなり、4thシングル『眩暈/edge』が第43回日本レコード大賞の作詞賞を受賞[4]。 2002年3月に『インソムニア』が日本ゴールドディスク大賞「ロック・アルバム・オブ・ザ・イヤー」を受賞[5]。同年11月5日には日本武道館での公演を成功させるなど、ソングライターとしてだけでなくシンガー、パフォーマーとしても地位を確立した。 短期間で急激な成功を収める一方、2年間でアルバムを3枚リリースするなどのハードスケジュールにより、心身共に健康状態が悪化。2002年春のコンサートツアーでは緊急入院で2公演をキャンセルし、退院後もドクター・ストップを押し切っての強行ツアーとなったほか、2003年夏に喉を痛めながら仕事を続けた結果、声帯結節発症をきっかけに2003年限りで活動を一時停止。UNIVERSAL SIGMAへ移籍したものの、11thシングル『育つ雑草』リリースとライブのゲスト参加だけにとどまり再び休養。 27歳の2007年に4thアルバム『LAS VEGAS』発売と海外進出希望を表明[6]。
