高田馬場駅（たかだのばばえき）は、東京都新宿区高田馬場一丁目にある、東日本旅客鉄道（JR東日本）・西武鉄道・東京地下鉄（東京メトロ）の駅である。
乗り入れ路線

JR東日本の山手線、西武鉄道の新宿線、東京メトロの東西線が乗り入れ、接続駅となっている。なお、山手貨物線を走行する埼京線・湘南新宿ラインやその他の列車は停車しない。

JR東日本： 山手線 - 電車線で運行される環状線としての山手線電車のみが停車し、それ以外の列車は通過する。また、特定都区市内制度における「東京都区内」および「東京山手線内」に属している。 - 駅番号「JY 15」

西武鉄道： 新宿線 - 新宿線の起点である西武新宿駅がJRや地下鉄が乗り入れている新宿駅と500 mほど離れていて乗り換えが不便なため、他路線との乗り換えが容易な当駅が実質的なターミナル駅となっている。小平駅から拝島線への直通運転も行っている。 - 駅番号「SS02」

東京メトロ： 東西線 - 中野駅方面の列車は中央線（各駅停車）と直通運転しており、西船橋駅方面の列車は東葉高速線への直通運転を行っている他、平日の朝夕ラッシュ時のみ津田沼駅まで総武線（各駅停車）への直通も行っている。 - 駅番号「T 03」

1910年（明治43年）9月15日：鉄道院山手線の駅として開業。

1927年（昭和2年）4月16日：西武鉄道の駅が、山手線と立体交差する手前に仮駅として開業。

1928年（昭和3年）4月15日：西武鉄道の駅を山手線東側の現在の位置に移設。

1945年（昭和20年）4月13日：太平洋戦争中にアメリカ軍の空襲を受け、駅舎を全焼。

1963年（昭和38年）：西武鉄道の駅で上りホームを新設。従来のホームは下りホームとなり、上りホームは臨時降車ホームとなる。

1964年（昭和39年）12月23日：帝都高速度交通営団（営団地下鉄）東西線の駅が開業[1]。

1987年（昭和62年）

3月：ホーム・コンコース等の拡幅等の東西線駅改良工事に着手[2]。

4月1日：国鉄分割民営化に伴い、国鉄の駅は東日本旅客鉄道（JR東日本）の駅となる。


1988年（昭和63年）10月24日：山本克忠新宿区長を会長とする新都心通勤交通網整備促進同盟（1980年）が全国8位の1日あたり66万人の乗降客がある本駅への埼京線の停車を小渕恵三内閣官房長官に陳情[新聞 1]。

1991年（平成5年）2月23日：JR東日本の戸山口に自動改札機を設置[3]。

1994年（平成6年）

2月10日：JR東日本の早稲田口に自動改札機を設置[4]。

6月：東西線駅改良工事が終了[2]。総工費約53億8000万円[2]。


1998年（平成10年）：西武鉄道の駅舎を改修。跨線橋の乗り換え改札を大改修し、ホームにあった自動精算機は2階の乗り換え改札口へ移設、ホームの冷房使用開始。

2001年（平成13年）

3月10日：西武鉄道の改修工事が完了し、戸山口を新設[報道 1][新聞 2]。
