配管工（はいかんこう、英語:Plumber）は、建築業における職種（工種）の一つで、水道管やガス管などの管（鋼管や塩ビ管など）を取り付ける工種のこと。主に給排水設備、ガス設備、空調設備の建築設備分野で必要となる。
配管工としての技能は、配管技能士として公的にはかることが出来る。これ以外に、溶接の技量や必要な資格を持つことでより高度な配管工になる。
また配管工と言えど建築配管やプラント配管など様々な業務内容がありただ単に配管工とまとめる事は難しい。
配管工は建築現場等で建築（躯体）と設備（衛生、空調、電気）との間に挟まれ様々な技能や技術を会得する必要がある。
技能職である配管工としての最高の資格は配管基幹技能者である。
英語名はラテン語の鉛（plumbum）に由来し、かつて古代ローマで水道管に鉛が使われていたことにちなむ[1][2]。 配管工事の区分の応じて得意とする分野があることが多い。複数の分野にわたる技量を持つものも多い。 作業員としての服装として、作業服、作業ズボンで業務を行うことが多い。手袋は軍手あるいは皮手袋 溶接作業に従事する者の中には、手甲、脚絆を身に付けるものもある。 ニッカズボンの着装は個人の好みによるので、配管工独自のものではない。 パイプレンチは重いので、腰にぶら下げることは少ない。
