短大在学中、札幌でスカウトされモデル業界入り。しばらくは札幌でローカルCMやブライダルショーを経験。約2年後に東京進出して本格的なモデル業をスタート。現在は多数のファッション雑誌に登場し人気を博す。親しい業界人やファンからは、「美香りんご」の愛称でも親しまれる（ファッション誌Oggiのコーナー「美香りんごデジカメ日記」にて広まる。現在コーナーは終了）。

2009年3月21日に結婚式を挙げた。夫は1歳下で、7年の交際期間を経て結婚に至った[1]。2011年12月6日に第1子男児を出産した[2]。

2018年12月に離婚を発表した[3]。
