紙ふうせん（かみふうせん）は、1974年（昭和49年）に結成された日本のフォークデュオである。関西を中心に息の長い活動を続けている。

経歴

フォークグループ「赤い鳥」のメンバーであった、後藤悦治郎と平山泰代が、「赤い鳥」解散直前に結婚し、解散後に夫婦デュオ「紙ふうせん」として活動を始めた。

2人は兵庫県立尼崎北高等学校の卒業生で、高校時代は同級生であったがほとんど交流がなく、大学入学後に再会した。大学は後藤が京都外国語大学、平山は武庫川女子大学である。

1977年（昭和52年）11月にリリースされた「冬が来る前に」では、翌1978年（昭和53年）に掛けてメジャーヒットを飛ばし、紙ふうせんの代表曲となった。曲を自作するだけではなく、フォークソングの原点を探ろうと民謡など各地の伝承歌の取材を続けている。

「冬が来る前に」の大ヒットにより、フジテレビ『夜のヒットスタジオ』（1978年2月13日放送）へ出演した時は、サプライズで以前向かいに住んでいた縁で大村崑夫婦から花束をもらった。またTBSテレビ『ザ・ベストテン』（1978年3月9日放送）では、この日8位にランクされたのが唯一の出演となった。

赤い鳥時代の楽曲では「竹田の子守唄」をはじめ、近年は合唱曲としても有名となった「翼をください」、芹洋子の歌でもヒットした「赤い花白い花」、紙ふうせん以降は「いかつり唄」「霧にぬれても」などが知られる。1979年（昭和54年）にスタートした朝日放送テレビ（ABC）の情報番組『おはよう朝日です』の初代主題歌「朝の空」は、15年間にわたって使用された。

1991年には西口美之（西口善之）[1]と青山智美を加えた4人編成のTSU-BA-SAを結成し活動。アルバムを2枚発表したが、その後は再び紙ふうせんに戻っている。

2005年（平成17年）にはNHK教育TVの『趣味悠々?紙ふうせんのあの素晴らしいフォークをもう一度』の講師として出演。後藤悦治郎は蕎麦通としても知られ、また熱心な阪神タイガースファンで「関西に移って一番良かったのは後楽園球場から遠くなったこと」だと音楽番組の中で冗談を飛ばしている。
