秦野市（はだのし）は、神奈川県の西部に位置する市。
地理

市域は、東西約13.6キロメートル、南北は約12.8キロメートル、面積は103.61平方キロメートルで、県内19市中5位の広さを持つ。神奈川県の行政区域は湘南に含まれる。丹沢の麓に位置し、市域の半分は山林である。市街地は四方を山に囲まれている。
地形

市内の標高最高地点は、標高1490.9メートルの塔ノ岳。最低地点は、鶴巻地区の16.2メートルである。北部と西部に丹沢山地が連なり、東は相模平野の間に大根台地があり、南には大磯丘陵が横たわる盆地（秦野盆地）が市の中心部である。また、秦野盆地は県内唯一の盆地である。豊富な地下水が湧出しており、 秦野盆地湧水群として、1985年名水百選の一つに指定されている。 盆地内には金目川水系の河川により複合扇状地が展開する。直下には秦野断層が所在する。

気候

太平洋岸気候に属し、海洋気象の影響を受けるため降霜・降雪が少なく、冬期は西北西、夏期は南方の風が多いが、風速は弱く一年を通じて比較的温暖である。そのため、盆地特有の気候の厳しさは少なく、山に囲まれた市街地は、夏は涼しく、冬はあまり雪が降らず住みやすい山紫水明な気候が特徴である[1]。
