盧溝橋事件（ろこうきょうじけん、中国語: 七七事件; 簡体字: ???事?; 繁体字: 盧溝橋事變）は、1937年（昭和12年）7月7日に中華民国北平市（現：北京市）西南方向の盧溝橋で起きた日本軍と中国国民革命軍第二十九軍との衝突事件である[4][注釈 1]。1937年7月7日夜、豊台に駐屯していた支那駐屯歩兵第一聯隊第三大隊第八中隊の将兵が盧溝橋付近の河原で夜間演習中、実弾を撃ち込まれ、点呼時に兵士の1人が所在不明だったため、中国側の攻撃があったと判断して起きたと言われる。比較的小規模な戦闘が繰り返された後、9日には中国側からの申し入れにより一時停戦状態となった[1]が、その後も小競り合いが続き、幾つかの和平交渉が行われたものの（後述）、結果として日中戦争（支那事変）の発端となった[5]とされる。中国では一般的に七七事変と呼ばれる[6]。まれに、後述する英語名を直訳してマルコ・ポーロ橋事件と表記される場合もある。英語ではMarco Polo Bridge Incident、Battle of Marco Polo Bridgeと呼ばれる[7][注釈 2]。
