白山白山比�盗_社

白山市（はくさんし）は、石川県の南部に位置する市。全域で白山手取川ジオパークをなす。
概要

2005年2月1日に1市2町5村が新設合併して誕生した。県内の自治体で最大の面積を有し、人口は金沢市に次いで2番目に多い。

市全域が県内最大の河川である手取川の流域である。日本三名山の白山を有する市南部は山岳地域で、手取川は北へと流れる。その後、中流で西へと曲がり、市北部にあたる下流域で手取川扇状地や独特の島集落を形成して日本海へと注ぐ。白山市域は、暖流の流れる日本海の影響を受けて積雪が多い。このように日本海から白山にかけての狭い範囲で水循環（水の旅）が生み出されていることから、市全域が「山?川?海そして雪　いのちを育む水の旅」をテーマとする白山手取川ジオパークとして認定されている[1]。

北部の旧松任市や鶴来町周辺は金沢市の南郊に位置することもあり、ベッドタウンとして人口が急増。住宅都市化が進むとともに、工業都市としても急成長している。

歴史
市町村の廃置分合

1889年04月01日 町村制の施行により、石川郡松任町、美川町、鶴来町、河内村、吉野谷村、柏野村、笠間村、笠島村、一木村、出城村、御手洗村、旭村、中奥村、林中村、比楽島村、福留村、山島村、蝶屋村、舘畑村、林村、蔵山村、郷村並びに能美郡白峰村、尾口村、別宮村、河野村、吉原村及び湊村が発足する。

1891年11月21日 石川郡比楽島村が能美郡砂川村（現在の能美郡川北町）の区域の内、出合島の区域を編入する。

1891年12月18日 能美郡湊村の区域の内、吉原の区域が能美郡湊村から分立して、能美郡粟生村の区域の内、赤井、西任田、東任田、吉光及び三道山の区域が能美郡粟生村から分立した上で、合併して、能美郡吉田村（現在の能美市）が発足する。能美郡湊村の大字は湊に限ることになる。

1899年03月07日 石川郡笠島村が石川郡宮保村に名称を変更する。

1907年08月05日 能美郡別宮村、吉原村及び河野村が合併して、能美郡鳥越村が発足する。

1934年07月15日 石川郡福留村及び比楽島村が合併して、石川郡石川村が発足する。

1951年04月01日 石川郡河内村の区域の内、石切小原、八幡、三宮、白山及び中島の区域をもって分立して、石川郡一ノ宮村が発足する。

1951年08月25日 石川郡旭村の区域の内、相木の区域を石川郡松任町に編入する。

1954年06月01日 白峰村、尾口村及び鳥越村の所属する郡が能美郡から石川郡に変更する。

1954年11月01日 石川郡美川町、蝶屋村及び能美郡湊村が合併して、改めて石川郡美川町が発足する。又、石川郡鶴来町、舘畑村、林村、蔵山村及び一ノ宮村が合併して、改めて石川郡鶴来町が発足する。

1954年11月03日 石川郡松任町、柏野村、笠間村、宮保村、一木村、出城村、御手洗村、旭村、中奥村、林中村及び石川村が合併して、改めて石川郡松任町が発足する。

1956年09月30日 石川郡郷村が分割して、専福寺、番匠垣内、横江及び田中の区域の一部の区域を石川郡松任町に編入する。堀内、田尻、蓮花寺、柳町、徳用、二日市、三日市、長池及び田中の区域の一部の区域を石川郡野々市町（現在の野々市市）に編入する。

1957年04月10日 石川郡山島村を石川郡松任町に編入する。

1970年10月10日 石川郡松任町が市制施行して、松任市となる。
