疾病負荷（しっぺいふか、英: disease burden）とは、経済的コスト、死亡率、疾病率で計算される特定の健康問題の指標のことである。疾病負荷は、死亡率や疾病率の両方とも一つの指標に結びつけた質調整生存年[2] (QALYs) または障害調整生命年 (DALYs) の用語で数値化される。疾病負荷は様々なリスク要因や疾病による疾病負荷の比較を容易にする。疾病負荷は健康影響について起こりうるインパクトを予測することもできる。

世界保健機関 (WHO) は、様々な環境問題について国または地域で疾病負荷をどのように算出するのか詳細な説明[3]を提供している。WHOによって使われている関連した概念は障害損失年数 (years lost due to disability, YLD) であり、これは個人の相対的に重大な健康損失も考慮に入れられている。障害損失年数は、健康を損ねた状態で過ごした期間を損失年数として等価で算出したものである。2004年において、障害損失年数の世界で最も重大な原因は男性女性とも単極性うつ病である[4]。

WHOは2004年に、世界では傷病によって150億DALYが失われていると推計している[5][6]。障害調整生命年 (DALY) = 損失生存年数 (YLL) + 障害生存年数 (YLD)[7]
