代表作に『進撃の巨人』（エレン・イェーガー[12]）、『マギ』（アリババ・サルージャ[12]）、『七つの大罪』（メリオダス[12]）、『クラシカロイド』、『Occultic;Nine -オカルティック・ナイン-』、『僕のヒーローアカデミア』[13]。
来歴

2004年11月、ゲーム『帝国千戦記』で声優デビュー[11]。2009年3月7日、第3回声優アワード新人男優賞受賞[14]。

2012年4月18日、2011年度ファミ通アワード男性キャラクターボイス賞受賞[15]。

2013年3月1日、第7回声優アワード主演男優賞受賞[16]。同年3月23日、第12回東京アニメアワード個人部門声優賞受賞[17]。同年、アーツビジョンからヴィムスに移籍[18]。

2014年3月1日、第8回声優アワード主演男優賞受賞[19]。2015年4月22日、2014年度ファミ通アワード男性キャラクターボイス賞受賞[20]。

2019年6月23日、竹達彩奈との結婚を発表[6]
人物・エピソード

中学生の時「声優という仕事は何について学んでもどんなことを頑張っても全部自分の力になる」という言葉を知り声優を志す[21]。尊敬する声優は山寺宏一と林原めぐみ[22]。吹替版『タイタニック』でアフレコの真似をしていた[23]。9歳下の妹がいる[24]。

趣味は旅行。資格は普通自動車免許[4]。AIカバーは恐ろしいと言うが、合成音声ソフト開発を進めている[25]。
