日暮里駅（にっぽりえき）は、東京都荒川区西日暮里二丁目にある、東日本旅客鉄道（JR東日本）・京成電鉄・東京都交通局の駅である。

荒川区最南端の駅で、一部は台東区にまたがる。
乗り入れ路線

JR東日本の各線（後述）、京成電鉄の本線、東京都交通局の日暮里・舎人ライナーの3社局の路線が乗り入れ、乗換駅となっている。また、JR東日本の駅には「NPR」のスリーレターコードが付与されている[報道 1]。

JR東日本：各線（後述）

京成電鉄： 本線 - 駅番号はKS02[報道 2]。

東京都交通局 ： 日暮里・舎人ライナー - 駅番号はNT 01[報道 3]。

JR東日本の駅に乗り入れている路線は、線路名称上は東北本線と常磐線の2路線であり、東北本線を所属線としている[1]。東北本線は当駅で田端駅経由の本線と尾久駅経由の支線が分岐するが、支線を経由する列車線にはホームがなく、列車線で運行される宇都宮線・高崎線列車は停車しない。本線経由の電車線で運行される京浜東北線電車および山手線電車のみが停車する。一方、常磐線に関しては中距離電車および常磐線快速電車が停車する[注釈 1]。

京浜東北線：電車線を走行する東北本線の近距離電車。横浜駅から根岸線への直通運転も実施している。駅番号はJK 32[報道 1]。

山手線：東北本線電車線を走行する環状路線。駅番号はJY 07[報道 1]。

常磐線（快速）：列車はすべて東北本線上の専用線路を介して上野駅まで乗り入れるほか、一部列車が品川駅まで運転される。
