新型コロナウイルス接触確認アプリ[8]（しんがたコロナウイルスせっしょくかくにんアプリ、英: COVID-19 Contact-Confirming Application[9]）は、日本の厚生労働省とデジタル庁が提供するスマートフォン向けCOVID-19アプリである[10][11]。略称はCOCOA[注釈 1][10]。濃厚接触の疑いのある本アプリ利用者間の接触をBluetoothによって検知・記録し、接触者から新型コロナウイルス（SARS-CoV-2）の陽性者が発生したときに、その旨を通知する[12]。アプリの通知を受けた利用者は、自主的な隔離生活や、医療機関への受診を各自で検討できるようになる。

2022年11月に新型コロナ感染処理番号の発行の停止、接触確認の表示の停止がされた[13]。
名称、読み

正式名称は、「新型コロナウイルス接触確認アプリ」であり、略称ないし愛称は「COCOA」である[14][15]。COCOAをどう発音するかは公式には定められていないが、英語とした場合の発音は「ココア」ではなく、「コウコウ」に近い[16][17][注釈 2]。ただし新聞などでは「ココア」としていることが多い[18]。
経緯

新型コロナウイルスの世界的流行に伴い、更なるパンデミック拡大の予防に貢献するために2020年5月AppleとGoogleが新型コロナウイルス感染症の接触通知（英: Exposure Notification）のAPIを各国公衆衛生当局に提供開始した[19]。2020年5月26日に「新型コロナウイルス感染症対策テックチーム」によって、このAPIを利用した接触確認アプリおよび関連システムの仕様書が公開された[20][21]。
