戦艦フライデー（せんかんフライデー、英: HMS Friday）は、金曜日に出航することに対する迷信を払いのけようとしたイギリス海軍による破滅的な試みに関する都市伝説である。広く知られているが、この物語は実際は偽りである。さらに、戦艦フライデーと呼ばれる船は、存在しない。物語の詳細は変化するが、それは通常以下の形に従う：
19世紀のある時、イギリス海軍は、金曜日に航海を開始することが不運をもたらすことは確かだったという古い迷信を、水夫たちの間で最終的に払いのけようとした。この迷信が偽りであると示すために、彼らは金曜日に戦艦フライデーと呼ばれる船を就役させることに決めた。その竜骨は金曜日に置かれ、金曜日に進水し、そして、金曜日にジェームズ・フライデー船長の指揮下に処女航海に出港した。この船に関してはその後二度と見られることも、知らせもなかった。
この物語は、多数のバリエーションで、しばしば事実として、頻繁に語られる[1][2][3][4][5]。
実際、この名前のイギリス海軍の船はこれまでなかった[5][6][7]。物語がどこで創案されたかは、不明である。しかし、それが1970年代にコメディアンのデイブ・アレン
によって彼のBBCテレビ番組で語られた後に知名度が増したようである[8]。種村季弘が「13日の金曜日」という文章で、この逸話を紹介している[9]。
