応仁の乱（おうにんのらん）は、室町時代中期の応仁元年（1467年）に発生し、文明9年（1477年）までの約11年に及んで継続した内乱。

室町幕府管領家の畠山氏と斯波氏それぞれの家督争いに端を発し、足利将軍家の後継者問題も絡んで幕政の中心であった細川勝元と山名宗全の二大有力守護大名の抗争となり、幕府勢力が東西に分かれて争う戦乱に発展、さらに各々の領国にも争いが拡大する大乱となった。

明応2年（1493年）の明応の政変と並んで戦国時代移行の原因とされる[注釈 1]。
