徳島県（とくしまけん）は、日本の四国地方に位置する県。県庁所在地は徳島市。
概要

四国の東部に位置する。県北部は粟が多く収穫されたことから「粟国」（あわのくに）、県南部は「長国」（ながのくに）であったが、後に統合され、令制国では阿波国（あわのくに）と呼ばれていた。古代より撫養港が南海道における四国の玄関口を担い、昭和頃には共同汽船などの運航でヒトやモノの往来が活発に行われていた。現在でも大鳴門橋（神戸淡路鳴門自動車道）や南海フェリー（徳島港 - 和歌山港）で近畿地方と結ばれており、経済や方言（阿波弁）の面で近畿地方の影響が顕著である。

吉野川や那賀川、四国山地、讃岐山脈、紀伊水道をはじめとする自然が多く残っており、鳴門の渦潮や祖谷渓、大歩危・小歩危、阿波土柱などの観光資源や、江戸時代より約400年の伝統がある阿波踊りなどの文化を有する。産業では農作物（すだち、にんじん、鳴門金時など）と畜産（阿波牛、阿波ポーク、阿波尾鶏）、化学工業が盛んである。

県北部を横断する吉野川は、四国山地と讃岐山脈の間を縫うように流れ、紀伊水道に流れ注ぐ。また、吉野川に沿うようにして徳島平野を形成している。吉野川の流れるラインは、中央構造線とほぼ一致している。県西や県南西は険しい山々が連なる。

豊かな自然と先進的な技術に支えられる一方で、少子高齢化や若者の都市部への流出に伴う著しい人口減少や、近い将来起こると予測される南海トラフ巨大地震などの課題も抱える。県の人口は2000年以降想定[1]を上回る急激なペースで減少しており、2023年4月に70万人を下回った[2][注釈 3]。また、明石海峡大橋の開通後は買い物客の神戸・大阪への流出も激しく、2020年に徳島市にあった徳島そごうが閉店したことで、山形県とともに一時的に県内に百貨店が存在しない県となった（その後跡地には徳島三越が出店）[3][4]。
